Summary This project aims to describe the variation in the use of metacognitive strategies in understanding an English text by subjects who are at different stages of development. This is developed through three case studies in which different instruments are applied to determine the presence, awareness, and variation in the use of such strategies.

AIMS The present project to describe the variation in the usage of metacognitive Strategies in the comprehension of an Inglés text by Subjects Who Are at Different Stages of Development. This is Developed Through three case studies, in Which Are Applied to Different instruments Demonstrate the Presence, degree of conscience, and variation in the use of the Above Mentioned strategies. Key words
Metacognitive Strategies, comprehension, stages of evelopment.
Based on the contributions of John Major, Frida Diaz Barriga and Eric Keller as metacognitive strategies, learning a second language and developmental stages, apply several tests on three subjects that are at different stages development to see how they use metacognitive strategies in understanding a text in English. You are looking to find ways in which this application relates to that stage of development and motivation of each subject.
objective
Describe the difference in use of metacognitive strategies by an adult, a teenager and a child on the specific task of understanding a text in English.
Specific Objectives To detect the presence of metacognitive strategies in an adult, a teenager and a child in the task of understanding an English text
conciendia describe the degree of that is in the use of such strategies
Sample and population
The population for this project is taken from the three major developmental stages (childhood, adolescence and adulthood), of which an individual was taken on each one to work from case studies. Subjects are 6, 15 and 24 years respectively are characteristic of the stage to which they correspond.
research methodology and techniques
We worked on this research through participatory action and applied techniques consisted of survey instruments, pre and post test and interview. It also documented lectures given between tests in a field notebook and came across the information matrices obtained in the analysis.
difficulties presented during the investigation
The difficulties are mainly concerned with the provision of time on the part of subjects to develop all the activities planned. Moreover, the fact of working with case studies makes the result obtained is only an approximation to reality investigated.
Results found that subjects used metacognitive strategies that can be associated closely to their stage of development and specific characteristics of each, although at first recognize the presence of some strategies, they are a very low degree of awareness (ie also depending on grade level).
Another factor in effectiveness when applying metacognitive strategies in reading an English text is motivation. Conclusion
Faced with the task of understanding a text in English, subjects in different stages of development use different metacognitive strategies, which initially have a low level of consciousness. These strategies and effectiveness in its use, is related to both the development stage in which the individual is, and what it involves, besides the level of motivation you have.
